Abstract

This research is motivated by the low life skills of students in class IV SD Negeri 6 Metro Timur. The purpose of this study is to determine the use of Snowball Throwing learning models in improving students' life skills. This type of research used in this research is Classroom Action Research. This study uses IV cycles. The procedure carried out in this study uses the stages of planning, action, implementation, observation, and reflection. The subjects of this research are the students in class VI SD Negeri 6 Metro Timur, totaling 27 students. The results showed that the use of the Snowball Throwing learning model in social studies learning could improve students life skills. The results in the VI cycle are that of all students as many as 23 (85.19%) students have increased their life skills and of the six indicators of life skills studied have reached more than 80%. So the research was stopped until the IV cycle.Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh rendahnya kecakapan hidup siswa di kelas IV SD Negeri 6 Metro Timur. Tujuan penelitian ini yaitu untuk mengetahui penggunaan model pembelajaran Snowball Throwing dalam meningkatkan kecakapan hidup siswa. Jenis penelitian yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah penelitian tindakan kelas (Classroom Action Research). Penelitian ini menggunakan IV Siklus. Prosedur yang dilakukan dalam penelitian ini menggunakan tahapan perencanaan, tindakan, pelaksanaan, observasi, dan refleksi. Subjek pernelitian ini adalah siswa kelas IV SD Negeri 6 Metro Timur yang berjumlah 27 siswa. Hasil Penelitian menunjukkan bahwa  penggunaan model pembelajaran Snowball Throwing dalam pembelajaran IPS dapat meningkatkan kecakapan hidup siswa. Adapun hasil pada siklus IV adalah dari keseluruhan siswa sebanyak 23 (85,19%) siswa telah meningkat kecakapan hidupnya serta dari keenam indikator kecakapan hidup yang diteliti sudah lebih dari 80% tercapai. Sehingga penelitian dihentikan sampai pada siklus IV. Kata kunci: kecakapan hidup, Snowball Throwing

Abstract

This research samples were taken by using cluster random sampling. Data were collected through test. Hypothesis was tested by using two paths variance analysis and independent two samples t-test. The results showed that: 1) there were learning result differences between students using mixed learning models of problem based learning mind mapping and problem based learning think pair share; 2) the average learning result of students with high critical thinking abilities who used mixed learning model of problem based learning mind mapping was higher compared to those students used problem based learning think pair share mixed learning models; 3) those students who used problem based learning mind mapping mixed learning models; 4) there were interactions between learning models and critical thinking ability to students learning results.Populasi penelitian ditentukan dengan clusterrandom sampling. Pengumpulan data melalui tes. Pengujian hipotesis menggunakan rumus analisis varian dua jalan dan t-test dua sampel independen. Hasil analisis data menunjukkan 1) ada perbedaan kemampuan hasil belajar antara siswa yang pembelajarannya menggunakan model pembelajaran gabungan Problem Based Learning dan Mind Mapping, Problem Based Learning dan Think Pair Share, 2) rata-rata hasil belajar pada siswa yang memiliki kemampuan berpikir kritis tinggi yang pembelajarannya menggunakan model pembelajaran gabungan Problem Based Learning dan Mind Mapping lebih tinggi dibandingkan yang pembelajarannya menggunakan model pembelajaran gabungan Problem Based Learning dan Think Pair Share, 3) rata-rata hasil belajar pada siswa yang memiliki kemampuan berpikir kritis rendah lebih tinggi dibandingkan yang pembelajarannya menggunakan model pembelajaran gabungan Problem Based Learning dan Mind Mapping, 4) ada interaksi antara model pembelajaran dengan kemampuan berpikir kritis terhadap hasil belajar siswa.
